BIBLE DIVIDING THE CHURCH..........................

“…………….we do want to believe that those things do exist but where are they in the bible...”
Those are common statements in religious debates, most especially when the person on the receiving end is a catholic. We all believe all believe in God and with out any reasonable doubt we have heard of what he has done and some have even seen things happen. So on the record I don’t want any body to miss understand me with whatever this article is going to point out.
When God started doing his work through the likes of Abraham, Moses, e t c, he worked directly with such people by sending them to deliver his massages and warnings. This was the time before Christ.                  After Jesus’ life and death the twelve disciples preached and taught the word directly, like this they torched a lot of souls which is manifested in the big numbers of Christians today. Such things like the bible didn’t exist and the church was one and not divided. Today we have the bible that has not only confused Christians but divided the universal church. But before we reap our selves into pieces, why should we base our faith on the bible, do we even know who wrote it?
Its better to believe in God and the Ten Commandments, being good to others with out unnecessarily quoting certain verses that will make some believers feel unworthy. Am one Christian who has for a long time tried to understand the bible but the more you will understand the bible is the more you will distance your self from God?
For starters, the bible was written by anonymous people who later posed and impersonated different prophets and apostles. They used the events of God and his son Jesus to put together our modern bible, by doing these they both helped to organize and disorganize the ministry.
The inconsistencies of the bible are too hard to pass by through the different stories. First of all in Genesis they present to us the creation story like they were there. This actually contradicts what the bible says that we shouldn’t try hard to understand God, human knowledge is limited to a lot of things but you don’t really understand why some one had to pen a story of the beginning with so much authority. Who was there to profile these events when they unfolded to an extent that we have them in our modern bible. Why didn’t they live us with what we knew that God is omniscient with out a beginning and an end? Why did some one come up with some beginning? Then when Cain killed his brother Abel God chased him out of the land and in their dialogue Cain said to the lord “……….whoever finds me will kill me.” This sends you wondering who those other people were and their origin considering the fact that Adam, Eve, Cain and Abel were the first earth family.
Further in the Old Testament we have the story of Noah and the floods it’s been highly criticized by non believers though the real problem here might have been the writer not the events. First of all you wonder where the writer was standing when all this happened, there’s no way that he saw what happened inside the ark and what happened outside it at the same time. According to the bible God asked Noah to let in “two of all kinds of animals, male and female” yet basing on studies done by the likes of James Edward, executive director of the encyclopedia of life said this of the biblical account “its physically impossible, there over 50million species out there” this means the ark would be small for even half the species on earth then considering that amorphous creatures like dinosaurs still existed. Another scholar David Menton, an associate professor emeritus of anatomy at Washington University and works for Answers in Genesis, a controversial museum in Kentucky.  It’s not noted if the owners of the museum are either believers or not but they depict the bible first book Genesis as literal truth. Its (museum’s) arguments have however been welcomed by many believers. Menton talks about it as some thing plausible; he reckons that Noah probably had to take aboard about 16000 creatures. He continues that Noah might have taken pairs to refer to closely related “kinds” of animals such as cows and buffaloes, dogs and wolves than different the different species that the modern bible talks of.
Then still in the bible David and Solomon are referred to as God’s favorite kings, they happened to lead after Moses had been handed the ten commandment but these kings sacrificed, married many women opposed to what the Ten Commandments preach, seems some things were missed out here and then on to the new testament.
When the archangel Gabriel visits Mary and says “ave Maria gratia” it was such a sacred greeting by an angel of the lord seems so inspired that Mary even goes on to sing that “…….all generations will call me blessed.” And it’s this same book that goes on to refer to Mary as merely woman rather than blessed as they wrote when she was still looked at with great importance. Then still in the new testament, its kind of an irony that almost all books miss Jesus’ first miracle of changing water into wine yet we believe this was meant to be some kind of a hallmark in his ministry and for it to miss out from all the other gospels is not only absurd but puts the authority of the holy book in balance.
Before we exhaust every thing we find another important story of Lazarus who Jesus raised from the dead, the significance of this story was meant to prove to the doubters that there’s life after death or that Jesus can give you life even after death. But this story is restricted to just one gospel of john and all the other gospels did was to tell a parable of another man named Lazarus. Such a mileage of giving Lazarus life back was meant to be all over our faces whenever we open the bible. Since it’s a common saying,  that the reason for many churches today is to bring God closer to the people then what a better way to inspire souls than flossing the miracles every where in the bible?
The authority of the apostles to be the writers of their gospels is very much questionable. If they say the apostles wrote the gospels, what happened to their authority to own their stories, on many occasions in Mathew’s gospel, he refers to him self as “a man called Mathew” this is the opposite of what any of us would refer to our selves while narrating accounts we were involved in. we expected Mathew and his company to refer to them selves as me or my self this would have given their gospels some authority than sounding like hear says or narrations. At the turn of events, in his gospel Mathew presents his calling to join Jesus’ ministry in chapter 9, this makes his information in his first chapters vulnerable since he wasn’t part of the ministry by the time they happened, how did he then come to write about them like he was there?  Why didn’t he present the source of this information to us?
Again the dogma nature of Jesus’ birth features in all the gospels, it was written in a way that even the private conversation of Mary and angel Gabriel not mentioning Joseph’s dream to marry Mary are narrated. Much as these stories are important to the scripture, they are too private for some outsider of the holy family to write about them with authority considering the fact that Mary, Joseph and their son Jesus didn’t write any gospel. Even if they had happened in the open, many of Jesus’ apostles who allegedly wrote the gospels were either too young or not yet born to witness the events before Jesus’ birth. Considering the fact that Jesus’ age mates and all those under or slightly older were killed by King Herod and the holy family had fled to Egypt where no body knew them.
However on the other hand, Paul owns his writings in fact, his letters to the Corinthians and Galatians inspire more than some gospels, he represents a very accurate literature in an inspirational form. Paul writes with such passion, he witnessed whatever he talks of in his letters and this is manifested when he includes himself in his stories with statements like “….lord Jesus talked to me…” contrary to the gospels where they would in the same statement have said, “lord Jesus talked to his apostles” which in the end sounds like there was some one watching every thing and later narrated it.
The fact that some books are missing or were omitted from the bible is also disturbing, we love God but there some questions we should ask our selves about the bible before we dismiss people’s faith basing on it. Do we know why they removed those books? Which criteria did they follow? Some say the omitted books were not inspired but were those who conducted the exercise inspired and who certified that. If those other books were not inspired who says that what we have is inspired content. How did they judge the inspiration of the content? Research shows that by the time the bible was written many of the witnesses of Jesus were dead or rather too old to remember any thing. There many chances that the bible research was based on interviews and how do we know that the parties questioned by mistake or deliberately with held information. Peter was said to be the oldest among the disciples thus may have seen almost every thing but doesn’t own a gospel yet his would be first hand information.
On a website of lost gospels, it’s said that Jesus had a gospel and that if it was published it would have been the shortest gospel with just a simple massage “you can’t confine the lord in beautiful storied buildings only, slice a peace of wood you will find me there, uncover a stone and I will be there.” It’s written that this text would have caused a rift between the church and the public since no one would have gone back to the church after listening to such sacred words thus the first fathers had to do away with that text so as to have the control of the church.
Much as Jesus did most of his works among women, no woman wrote a gospel or a letter yet they were religious collaborators with the Christians. Is it possible that women of that era had no interest of seeing the church grow? Of course not they wrote some text but for some reason they were ignored.
The reason is, the era of the first church was almost a non feminine period, women were declined to just the kitchen and they disrespected them, in such a way only men were allowed to conduct prayers. It’s because of the bias that the first fathers had towards women that all books written by women were neglected; Mary who had been by Jesus’ side was relegated to simply woman and all books that talked about her were labeled uninspired. That also tells you why to date the Catholic Church; women are not allowed to become priests but nuns and thus can’t conduct mass but services. It’s because of this misconception that we don’t have a gospel by a woman and why all books related to Mary were originally removed from the text.
It was such a hard thing for some men to give a woman like Mary so much importance that the blessed was only venerated after she appeared to many different people with massages that the church could hardly ignore her.  Years later after rigorous investigations the church decided to declare many things surrounding her dogmas venerated her and even recalled those apocalypho books that had written about her like Judith. But this was the beginning of the church division that’s when we saw those who couldn’t take it leave the original church labeling it satanic.
The bible is well written, documents the life of Jesus and other prophets we do need it but some mistakes done by the writers are not only dividing the church but also generating seeds of resistance. In his book The God Delusion, Richard Darwin used the bible to discredit every thing Jesus stood for, the Pentecostals use the bible to discredit the Catholic Church and the later also uses the bible to dent the other and none of them is wrong since they both have text they base their arguments on.
The problem is that we fail to interpret the Godly words thus end up using them to wage war and mortgage for peace at the same time. Paul was strongly against this in his teachings about the use of the tongue.  if we call our selves followers of the bible why on earth do all christians have to say the apostles creed yet its no where in the bible and its too not wrong.
Some people wrote the bible with good intentions, but their weaknesses as humans caused more harm than they imagined thus contradicting themselves a number of times and making the authority of this special book questionable. Am one of those believers who love God one heartedly but accepted the fact that he didn’t write the bible but humans did and thus much as the bible is so important we shouldn’t let it guide our faith, God gave us heads.

Is Christianity just fire insurance?

KAGGWA MYGA ANDREW: Is Christianity just fire insurance?: As a pastor preaching a long Jinja road and in his summon, he told those who minded him that on that day (judgment) people will look back...

Is Christianity just fire insurance?

As a pastor preaching a long Jinja road and in his summon, he told those who minded him that on that day (judgment) people will look back at him as missed call. He went on as people will be burnt forever and how it’s pain and misery in there.
As this preacher went on I wondered if it mattered to him to at least tell the people about the heaven he wants them to embrace.
He was just becoming the other preachers; they will tell the crowds of the anguish, suffering and pain in hell but not the advantages of going to heaven. In fact by the time they finish the congregation is more scared than devoted that they will do anything the bible demands of them.
In his book “Chasing Heaven to Avoid Hell” Jean Sheldon writes that many Christians have hidden fears about judgment. He goes on to say that many wish for answers to the quest for eternal life, a faith which makes sense and a religion which fits together into a consistent whole.
Christianity doesn’t fit this setting that many feel like it traps them instead. They feel like its blackmail against fire, to some, Christianity is a necessity against the flames of hell. To these people Christianity is nothing but a fire insurance that they will do anything a church leaders terms as righteous.
But would any of these people adhere to the Ten Commandments if hell was a place of mere suffering and hunger? Without fire may be hell would sound like another joke probably some people have always lived a life of suffering all through. Or if hell was ice cold would the number of Christians shoot up like its doing today?
Winnie Nassozi, a procurement practitioner and an Anglican Christian thinks that at the end of it all Christianity comes down to that. She says that no one wants to burn forever so many will embrace Christ with overwhelming fear and minimal faith.
“At the end of the day, we get down to this. Trust me people will say they love Christ and praise his grace but deep down it’s the fear of hell that drives many to churches”, says Winnie.
Another Rehema Ssali, a converted Muslim shares Winnie’s arguments when she says that even the cartoon teaching about heaven don’t help that a lot. She says that portraying heaven as a place where believers enjoy food and wine doesn’t make it that attractive but the thought of burning in hell makes heaven a good deal.
“I couldn’t want to go to a place where all my good deeds, donation, offertory and fasting are characterized in food and wine but when fire is the next option, you will go for the food”, she says.
The views of these two Christians paint and reflect views of many other ignorant and confused Christians. Do they know or understand the heaven they want? True, may be they are sure of hell’s existence but are they sure that heaven even exists? Do they have the assurance? Does anyone have the assurance? What about the preachers? Is there something they are not telling us by mistake or default?
Think about it many books have been written about people who have allegedly visited heaven and come back. But 98% of these stories talk about hell, the suffering and the celebrities there. In all these stories only one chapter or page will be dedicated to the heaven part. These are stories that leave horror images in the mind of the listener that he/she won’t wish such a place for even their cousins. This little knowledge about heaven and the abundance of it, about hell has created more fear than faith. That churches are full but with scared and lost people, people with little knowledge of the salvation they crave for.
Such fear was evident when a friend told me that even if heaven was a dog house, he would do anything to enter that dog house than burn.
In a faith where many kids have been brought up to think it’s a sin not to want to go to heaven, without really knowing why it’s righteous to want heaven. These kids can narrate to you the hell ordeal until your thoughts will hear the very flames crackling around you.
And I guess if you asked some why or why not, they want to go to heaven, their minds will run in twists with answers like; “of course everyone is supposed to want to go to heaven” or “it’s the only safe place to go”.
Some say it’s because of this fear that religious leaders too fear death. Much as they want to go to heaven, religious leaders have their doubts. They feel that they don’t have the assurance regardless of their selfless services on earth.
If Jesus made a surprise visit to earth and asked ay one why they follow him, he will be shocked that none may offer him a complete right answer. It will be utter shock that even after his suffering and death, many people still treat his sacrifices as a bait to avoid fire.

CAMPUSER’S CORPORATE EXPERIENCE

…………I Opened my eyes, looked at the ceiling. My head was heavy and I hated my own odor to say that I smelt like brewery would be a lie because, it’s like I had a brewery in me. I started thinking hard, “am I supposed to be here?” but soon I realized that the only way I could answer this was by trying to think where my parents anticipated me to be at that time. I reached for my phone; it was 11:30am the actual time for my second lecture. That’s when reality struck; Sunday is not good for dates. That’s when I started recollecting the day I had anxiously waited for.
A telecom company had organized something at Serena hotel, I had been invited by this guy whose name I was still struggling to grasp. He aid for my dress, shoes and bag insisting about the dress code. Within the first five minutes of the gathering, I had already I was in the wrong place with the wrong crowd. Men were pulling seats for women as if they had no better staff to do. Probably they’ve watched a lot of desperate house wives and sos.
Women behaved, laughed like they were preserving make up already on their faces. Because of the way I was dressed, I instantly learnt that I had to behave like a lady, something am allergic to.
I didn’t have any idea of the recession, credit crutch or economic recovery talks. I kept nodding in approval not to feel out of place. I was craving for someone to say something about Kanye West or Lady Gaga but no one did. Meanwhile, I used this time to appreciate Serena’s nice lights; I had never been there before.
One thing rallying in my mind was “why did he choose to invite me?” we had only met at some night club and up to now I was still struggling to remember his face and now with him involved in that credit munch…………… whatever talks, I could hardly remember him.
But if there was any thing to notice, thing around here are quite amazing and many things were surprising me that at times I found my eyes wide open as if I had seen Yna and Angelo around.
I started looking for a seat and that’s when my date came, acted like a gentleman and got me one, I sat down and got a chance to look into his eyes, and oh my God!!!
There was nothing deep about them and this almost sent me to the loos to scream; why me? Though the continuous flow of drinks kept me around. He asked for a tall green bottle with some label I was definitely seeing for the first and probably the last time.
He later invited me to the dance floor, it was a ballroom dance of sorts (you know those ones St Lawrence students usually talk about to show off). I knew nothing about this too that am actually surprised he continuously kept quiet whenever I stepped his shoes.
He asked me if I was “buzzed up”…………., I shook my head in disapproval not because I understood what buzzed up meant but simply because I didn’t want to associate with that word and whatever it meant.
By this time I had downed a lot of beers and some staff in green and colored bottles. This was the only thing keeping me here coz my body and my spirit were already out of this corporate party.
And the corporate guys…………. They also get senselessly drunk and start making noise about almost every thing from their wives latest demands to them failing to see their feet because of their “godly given” potbellies.
It was at around 12 am that I felt enough was enough. I fled off to the loos with a glass, I really wanted to leave. This experience not campus at all in fact I felt like the only thing I hated more than this experience was only education. I took a sip and started nodding to an imaginary sound of pussycat dolls’ I hate this spot right here, took another sip………………
And that’s all I remember.

As told to kaggwa Andrew

DAIRY OF A UGANDAN FACE BOOK JUNKIE

He wakes up early in the morning and grabs his phone, to simply make sure it’s on. His last web address has always been face book zero or m.facebook.com for the past few weeks. He always wakes up to post some bu-things on his page and goes back to bed.
When he’s fully up, the drama begins. He goes through his page to checks if he’s got any notifications and mail. By this time, the junkie is not yet out of bed. If there is nothing appeasing he looks through the friends’ status updates, thinking of posting one hell of an update to gather at least a number of comments than the other residents. For a junkie it takes between 20 to 30 minutes for him to make up his mind. And the madness begins; they start living up to the statement “what’s on your mind?” as they paste the entire place with every good, bad, wise and stupid thing on their cheap minds.
Being a Ugandan junkie needs no special integrity. One who checks his page using his phone about four or more times a day, visit his page to simply comment on other people’s updates, you may not know this but you are hooked.
For a Ugandan addict its only a matter of coming up with some cheesy statements that are not really meant to expose your credible side ( the saying goes that the more stupid an update is, the more it’s fancied by people). You’re free to post a completely irrelevant and stupid updates coz that’s what face book citizens love; irrelevancy.
You will notice that naughty statements like “umm, now am good” or “ I smell chicken flies do you?” get over seventy people commenting and you a face booker who at least still stands for integrity and all his friends   will be wondering what the big deal is, chicken flies REALLY?
That’s not all, they will amuse you even more just by the way they understand some statements call me backward but, the queen’s language needs some respect even when it has been posted on your page. Like, according to oxford learners dictionary means something you find pleasant. When a face booker updates his status that; “am terribly sick” or “my dad died”, it’s obvious he/she is looking for a dose of sympathy, but then, a snobby Ugandan addict will go below your status and click “LIKE”. Then you will have your page read “so and so likes this” but for God’s sake what’s there to like about death or sickness?
Then there those ones dangerously in love with poking every one they can. Do they even know what poke even means? They poke charity organizations, church ministries, and links, in fact the last time I checked some one was poking Palomar and Diego on Bukedde TV, SERIOUSLY?
In the beginning face book was for trendy youths like us but then every one realized how easy it was to use the site. And that’s when homies in owino and ewa-kisekka joined the fray, I hear even Rwamiti and Straka’s fans can also meet them on fesi buuku.
Though, if there’re some things we should note about our face book residents is that;
              I.      For them friends mean numbers, they are just any other accessory you talk about and show off even when you have no plans of posting any thing on their walls. Well if you’re a celebrity friends are those things you will talk about during the fix on bush baby’s XXL like; “I have 1000 and so friends on face book” to make the other celebrity inferior. You need as many of them, the fewer you know the better. Send requests to every one regardless of the fact that you won’t contact any of them there after. They can even walk about on streets using the F word on whoever cares because they have a thousand friends on face book and this doesn’t have limits not even relatives are safe.

II.      Comment on only close friend’s statuses. All the other face book friends are meant to accumulate numbers and whatever they write no matter how sensible it may be, dude its rubbish. Ignore it because you must assume that he/she too has close friends to comment on that. You must ignore it like you never confirmed their friendship.

III.      69.9540% of your posts are lies either talking about some (non- existent) fight you had with your (imaginary) girlfriend or a scenario from some upcoming kina- Uganda. People on face book are liars. Many especially junkies will do any thing to get a good post. Some one watches the latest on zone reality; E, MTV and they will use those catchy lines as their own to trigger massive reactions.
Internet has never been an issue of addiction in Uganda since, much as it’s is cheap now days, very few can afford personal connections thus many of our junkie victims are mobile users. This however doesn’t exclude those chaps in their offices with a minimized face book page on the monitors. But, the younger victims are middle aged humans who found the World Wide Web so exciting just previously. A few months back they thought face book conversations were for showies but today they talk like they can’t live without it they want to sound like they know the this and that of I T.
It’s always a common sight of a junkie bragging about their latest notifications, requests, calling text massages inbox or how they have over 100 friends (they have never met). But when you take them around face book say, talk about Google Plus, Tweeter, My Space or even a simpler Hi5 they will think you’re speaking in tongues. Totally lost in translation.
Though much as we may love to hate face book, these addicts are fun to look at, it’s both annoying and surprising seeing a fully suited up man laughing or smiling to him self like he’s seated next to Oprah and Zuena, only to realize the fool is draining into the 2inch screen of his phone. Then comes the depressing sentences; “guess who has inboxed me and blah blah”. They will almost force you to ask them to give you a break or cut you a slack. But in the end you realize it’s not really a bad thing even if Ugandans are over rating it. And just like many of you, I too like this.

AFRICAN ELECTIONS ALMOST DONE.......................WHAT NEXT

Am on my way to Zitemwa Manyagwa Gayaza road and right next to me is a tight lipped Nabwire carol. She is my village neighbor and at the look of things she rarely comes to Kampala even when it’s simply a 20 minute drive on a good day.
Back to where Nabwire comes from in Zitemwa, many like her have never been to the Kampala big apple. Child labor is rampart here that even the children abused find it right. This is a place with no good schools, hospitals and health care is simply a myth. At one moment you could think the area is a country away from Uganda but with the flamboyant pictures of presidential and parliamentary candidates from the past elections, this feeling can’t stay for long.
Yes, people in such areas were much involved in these elections like always its also true that they turned up in large numbers to vote for different candidates. They decide Uganda’s future over and over since they have a lot of time on their hands.
But is it worth it?
One may wonder why such people as Nabwire still indulge in politics if it’s not yielding any fruits. Nabwire claims that in 1996 the area was promised a road meant to run from the Manyagwa trading centre to Mukono. Much as the pledge was honored, it should be noted that at least three quarters of the population in Manyangwa own no cars to use the tarmac.
Nabwire like the many, stays with a brother of hers. He’s ten years old and has never seen a blackboard though his story is different from any you have heard. He doesn’t crave for school and he despises those kids whose parents he believes succumbed to that over hyped routine.
In a deep talk with Nabwire you get to realize that both she and the brother didn’t get a chance to stay with their parents for long and all they have is the land they are living on. Like that they have no one to tell them how important education is. Their story and the village represent over a thousand Ugandan villages and Nabwire and the brother reflect the nature of Uganda behind the curtains. With few days for the president elect to officially start his fourth term, this is the time for Ugandans to question them selves whether after president Museveni is sworn in Ugandans should plan for the worst, better or the same.
There a number of undeveloped parts in Uganda, places where smartly dressed guys are called uncle or auntie with an aim of getting something from you. These are almost distant places in lifestyle; the rule of law is almost something unheard of. Its one of the few Ugandan places where people find it legal to sit over three to four people on a boda boda. Their life is so predictable and simple i.e. from bed to garden to bed daily, it’s the circle.
An estimate shows that at least 53% of children in Zitemwa don’t go to school yet UPE because it’s been long since their parents owned a 1000 shs note.
Many of their parents are brick layers just like Nabwire, she says she had tried sending the brother to school but the job as a brick layer couldn’t yield much since the area has over 100 brick layers with very few construction works in process.
This leaves the brother as part of the 53% children who spend the day looking for work, stealing fruits and picking food on dustbins. He has a shy composure though his friendly nature has not been welcomed by the neat homes; he comes along with lice and trust me his odor is not a nose friendly one.
Giving him different items does little to solve their problems since they usually sell them off to get money for upkeep.
This town represents the true nature of the country Museveni has once again inherited, a country with such towns with even worse off infrastructure. Their world is not far but shut from the realities of an average Ugandan.
In his new term he has to help these Ugandans achieve a life they only imagined, may be through better schools he can help build for them meaningful role models than these whose dreams and ambitions have since been turned to ashes.
Before planning for a 3 billion swearing ceremony, the president should look at such dissolute areas like these because it’s even said they voted for him like no one else. Such an area where only about 8% of the houses can afford electricity needs not politicians but performers.
They are usually used as play grounds for politicians during elections but after all that you will be thrown into wondering if they even have legislators but they do both government and opposition officials.
They are the 80% Ugandan agriculturalists whose possible funds may be wasted on their politicking parliamentarians, their children and future has been stolen thus these areas bright future is far from reaching.
With the escalating prices of food stuff, fuel and an extravagant government budget what’s left for such societies how are they supposed to plan for the next five years.

KAMPALA’S ILLEGAL IN THING

They say Uganda has come along away, from the days of Max, Afro, cassette then  Suzana to the  now Guvnor and silk, only Bebe cool’s Sambagala can narrate.
It was such a wild life, before Hot 100 diluted our English and real music had nothing to so with humping and swag (not the magazine). These were days when all the new music was found on sanyu and capital FM. Others would catch up of course.

Then soon all this changed, in the mid 2000’s when the World Wide Web mesmerized many youths, plus the formation of different piracy sites.
Burning CDs became a lucrative business and considering that movies too were hard to come by BBC guys (Bachelor of burning CDs) enjoyed business on monopoly. An empty CD usually went for 3000/= and more burning a CD would cost about 5000/= for a normal audio CD and 10,000/= for an MP3. serious dime!

Soon this changed when computers became affordable, schools taught kids how to handle these machines and with the help of rich students from Kabojja and St. Law (yeah thats what they call it) soft ware’s came in handy. These guys knew where to find the latest PS and a Johnny Depp animation.

They made Bee MP3, Dilandau, MP3 skull and IM.1 sites household names. Every one could own a Katty Perry or Kanye West record a day from realease.

And now with more computer exposure Ugandans are at it again, with movies. Today, Uganda’s status has been elevated from a third world country to a first lane one. People can catch the latest movie regardless of the country’s financial state.
And call it Kajanja, when Ugandans do something they fully utilize the ability, so it is the same with piracy.

Ugandans have taken piracy to a new level, making this country the only place where digital TV is threatened by DVDs, where movies at the cinema are considered old. In fact we are living on the first lane that we catch new movies a day after the world premier.

They have turned majestic plaza into a movie hub and Papa’s corner or Edie soft a Disney of sorts.

We don’t watch like Americans but TV wise, we are Americans. We can talk  about  the latest episode of  Glee, Fringe or CSIs three months before DSTV premier the season.

To totally render digital TV Irrelevant, we even encroached on their after sales service shows like, reality shows, concerts, award shows and the like.

The high rates of the piracy are the reason NTV introduced local shows like the hostel, the public was simply ahead when it came to prison break and 24. Ugandans are fast that just this year, Kampalans got the entire shows of MTV movie awards, bill board awards and BET awards before their spin off channels like MTV base and BET African version could screen these awards, yes that fast.

Though, much as its common knowledge that piracy is illegal for local music and art, we are not sure if its not for foreign shows like breakout kings or Hannah Montana. This has made almost every Ugandan a pirate because like it or not, once in a while you are attempted to watch the latest movie at a low cost or probably used the internet to download software and some song called Hustle. It is no longer an act but the way of life even local TV stations screen pirated movies especially that one showing X-men first class right now.

You see, piracy all over. And as you read this, let me catch the latest with the Kardashians, mbu clear copy ummm.
