When one reads the following title, they will probably call us mad but, word from the queen’s backyard is that one Ugandan footballer is causing quite a stir within the youth ranks.
Alex Kiwomya is an English based Ugandan footballer born to former lower league striker Andy Kiwomya and nephew of former Arsenal and Ipswich man Chris. Kiwomya joined Chelsea from Rotterdam in 2010.
He made his under 18 Chelsea debut at the end of the 2010-2011 season before kicking off the 2011-2012 campaign with a bang, clinching a hat-trick against Birmingham city in his first game.
Rumor has it that even senior team interim coach, Rafa Benitez is showing keen interest in the teen star.
Kiwomya has since been a source of speculations with media reporting that the hunky youth was on both Manchester United and Arsenal’s wanted list.
Born on 20th may 1996, the youngster has been described as the next best thing by the official Chelsea news website, the Daily mail has described him as the boy to watch yet one of his goals has been ranked as one of 2013’s greatest by 101 Greatest goals site. His featured on both England’s athletic and football youth teams.
Just last weekend, Kiwomya continued to show what he is made of when he scored against Italy’s Juventus in European next generation series game on Sunday.
The knock out tournament includes 24 of European’s most elite clubs. The game ended 4-1 in favor of Chelsea.
